“If I could help Just one somebody, my living would not be in vain”
Hi! My name is Jaeda Sykes, I am 23 years old; Native to New Jersey but, My home is in the Lake Norman Community of NC. I am a Follower of Christ, the Founder/Owner of Sykes S.T.E.P.S Inc.(a youth organization that supports teens during their transition to adulthood), the New Business Coordinator for CarolinasMassMutual,an Army reservist, a Lifelong Learner (currently enrolled at ASU), an Explorer (more like a wanderer), and a Lover of all things inspirational. I started this blog for a few reasons:
1. I got tired of people over glorifying my accomplishments and the work that I do but, not supporting my business.
2. I got tired of people assuming that my life is perfect, I’m well off (financially), and/or that I “have it all together”; if you take the time to read any of my blogs you will find that none of that is true.
3. I’ve been wanting to share my personal experiences in written form for a long while but, I kept telling myself that no one would even read it and I allowed that to discourage me from fulfilling my desire.
My goal is to create an authentic and relatable experience for my readers. We live in a world where individuals are heavily influenced by social media which, unfortunately, inspires people to set unrealistic expectations on what their experience of life should be. Halfway between black & white lies the color gray.
Gray is not readily conforming to a category or to an existing set of rules. I titled this blog “The Gray Areas” because I will be focusing on just that, the gray areas of my life. The parts of my life behind the photos that are unclear/uncertain to the rest of the world and, I will leave it up to you to perceive what my experience of life is.
Gray is calm and soothing, both chic and sophisticated; an analogy I would use to describe my personality.
I hope that my content is meaningful to you and that in some way I guide, motivate, and inspire you to live your best life; Enjoy!
